Our Story
From an Idea to a Movement
It began with a small group of educators from King’s College who shared a restlessness about what higher education in Nepal could be. There was no roadmap—only a belief that learning could be more rooted in lived experience, community, and purpose.
From this emerged Community-as-Curriculum (CAC)—the idea that the deepest learning happens with communities, not at a distance from them. Today, our vision is expanding to establish Nepal Communiversity as a fully independent university.
Our Journey
Initial idea & conversations began among educators.
Communiversity becomes an independent not-for-profit.
Successfully ran the Summer Program, Winter Program, and Social Innovation Fellowship.
Signed partnership with Kathmandu University to launch MSIE.

Our Vision
Community as Curriculum
Most colleges limit education to four walls. We believe the deepest learning happens with communities, not at a distance from them.
What started as a bold experiment with a small group has grown into a movement. After successful ventures—our 2023 Summer Program, 2024 Winter Program, and the 2025 Social Innovation Fellowship—we’ve proven that hands-on, real-life experience creates the most impactful leaders.
Today, in partnership with Kathmandu University, we are launching the MSIE degree. Tomorrow, our vision is to establish Nepal Communiversity as a fully independent university.
